Addictions Therapist – South Yorkshire

20 Hours Per Week – Permanent

Salary: £12.27 per Hour

      To develop, and use thorough communication and working relationships with all members of the multidisciplinary team to best serve the clients interests.

To provide group and individual therapy sessions for clients residing with the client who are dependent on alcohol or other drugs.

To maintain accurate client records.

To liaise and communicate with other staff, and where appropriate, other agencies regarding information on clients.

To work according to the principles and ethics of the BCAP/ FDAP or other professional bodies.

To support individuals through detoxification.

To commence induction to treatment programme, after full assessment by nursing staff, before entering groups.

To carry out comprehensive substance misuse assessment.

Contribute to care planning and review and develop an action plan to help clients address their substance use.

To engage with individual clients in therapeutic relationships and to help them identify and better understand and change their self defeating patterns of behaviour.

To provide regular lecture input to clients.

Contribute to the protection of individuals from harm and abuse

To provide information about, and to encourage family members to access the help available to them.

To promote clients equality, diversity and rights.

Test for substance use.

To be active in the continuing development of professional knowledge and skills.

To make yourself available for and attend formal supervision sessions.

Contribute to and support the development, promotion and maintenance of quality services being delivered in a safe and healthy working environment.

To attend mandatory training.

To maintain strict confidentiality in relation to all matters relating to the client and work undertaken.

To maintain confidentiality at all times.

To provide family therapy sessions where needed.
