Seven Criminal Justice have an exciting new opportunity available in Essex for a dynamic and passionate Nurse to contribute to the ongoing success of the substance misuse service. This exciting role will offer the successful candidate the chance to make a lasting difference to the lives of our service users. The role requires a high level of independent working and competency and provides a number of varied and interesting development opportunities for the right applicant.

Salary:

£35K – £42K + Recruitment Bonus (pro rata).

The Role:

  • Act as a specialist resource for non-specialist staff, running internal workshops on the detoxification process and medication administration.
  • Liaise closely with the subcontracted GP to ensure services user detoxification is managed safely and effectively.
  • Support staff in identifying dual diagnosis service users and referral to Community Mental Health Team
  • Contribute to the overall performance of the service to ensure that contractual output targets are achieved.
  • Take the lead in responding to and managing clinical emergencies and emerging risks, employing appropriate escalation skills in a calm and efficient manner
  • Develop sound working relationships and develop protocols with drug treatment services and community services to facilitate effective service user care co-ordination on an ongoing basis
  • Participate in daily briefings, share relevant information and provide comprehensive handovers within the team, to ensure continuity of care.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: A Registered Nurse (RMN or RGN) for 3+ years + qualification & Qualified Non-Medical Prescriber (V300)
  • Experience: Previous experience of working within the substance misuse field, including experience of managing alcohol and opiate detoxes, and carrying out comprehensive assessments
  • Hours: Full time (37 hrs per week) or part time (min.18.5 hours). Full time role requires the applicant to be a Qualified Nurse Prescriber.
