Seven Criminal Justice are currently looking for compassionate, motivated and innovative nurses to join this brand new team!

The role:

We will provide specialist training to the postholders and we welcome applications from newly qualified nurses. As a specialist nurse you will support the delivery and development of the new Tobacco Addiction Service, working closely with the nurse manager, team, and partners to successfully meet service outcomes, aims and objectives.

You will be given a combination of face to face and e-learning training provided by The National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training (NCSCT) which will include speciality modules for Pregnancy and Mental Health. Motivational Interviewing training will also be provided.

You will play a key role within this innovative, nurse led model, providing via specific patient group directions, direct access for service users to tobacco pharmacotherapies.

Nurses will provide a range of interventions including very brief and brief advice, individual face-face assessments and support, group support, harm reduction advice, relapse prevention techniques, psycho-social interventions, education/prevention and training across the city.

Successful candidates will promote the benefits of stopping smoking and the tobacco addiction service through a variety of mechanisms to a number of identified organisations via a range of venues and events which will include:

  • Delivery of services from a wide variety of community venues, including utilising the mobile van for service delivery.
  • Undertake assessments, plan and deliver tobacco addiction interventions. These will include nicotine replacement therapies and you will work under PGDs in order to administer and supply pharmacotherapy options.
  • Undertake the procurement, storage and management of nicotine replacement products and prescribed medications as per CGL PGDs and policies.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: First level registered nurse with recent relevant post qualification (RMN or RGN) Non-medical prescriber (or willingness to undertake)
  • Experience: Experience in Substance Misuse
  • Compliance: NMC Pin
  • Hours: 30 hours
  • Salary: £27,567 – £38,568
