The Pricing Manager – Insurer support supports the ongoing development of our pricing strategy. This role is focussed on developing and managing a small team of analysts who provide development capability for supporting our insurance panel.
The role is responsible for supporting the product team across Car, Home and telematics and providing insight, data, MI and initiatives with our panel of insurers. Working with product managers, insurer risk pricing teams and data insights teams to provide visibility of performance and trends of the portfolio of insurance customers.
Developing loss ratio, frequency, elasticity, mix technical insight to assist insurers to improve the profitability and performance of our insurance products. Working closely with the technical analytical and data science team to drive unique insight into real world value. Establishing unique product pricing using data and knowledge to drive differential in net rate pricing provided by our insurance panel.
Developing the deployment capability of such insight through third party or developing internal links with underwriters to provide point of quote enrichment of information. Developing data assets and availability of permissions / use under GDPR guidelines to ensure correct use of data.
The role is key to managing the underlying performance and ensures we achieve our drive for growth and profitability. From both a pricing and industry best practice perspective, the role holder will be expected to lead the negotiations and development of insurer`s net rate and improved performance.
-Responsible for supporting the panel of insurers and product owners in the development of our pricing strategy and financial plans. To support this though analysis, presentation, negotiation, deployment and management information. Working closely with finance, pricing and account managers is fundamental in achieving the financial plans and goals of the business
-Improving pricing capability by adopting market leading technology and methods to improve the effectiveness of optimisation
-Leading the delivery of pricing analyses and translation of these into practical solutions to enable insurers to support the customer base and to target valuable long term customers for both us and the insurance panel. Working closely with the technical pricing team to optimise the use of our extensive data assets to optimise value and insight
-Supporting the smooth running of the team and delivery of our Pricing commitments, providing support and advice to the wider pricing team to improve overall knowledge, experience and best practice and providing insight into the performance of the insurance products
-Develop analytical projections based on pricing best practice to predict how insurer price changes will impact the business performance in future months
Skills, Knowledge and qualifications
-Excellent technical understanding of pricing, statistical, analytical methodologies strong negotiating and presentation skills. Ability to support insurer`s technical pricing teams
-Proven pricing experience in major organisations such as insurers, insurance retailers, financial institutions or MGA`s showing ability to develop insight and build the operational process to deploy and achieve value
-Strong communication skills and able to lead projects
-Ability to manage and analyse data, automate business insight visibility and forecast performance

-Progress towards relevant professional qualification e.g. CII or MBA desirable
