Main purpose of job:

  • Ensure exemplary client services are delivered across the account services team by preparing and implementing written account services SOPs

  • Proactively build strong relationships with clients, key opinion leaders and other stakeholders

  • Manage, direct and lead account services delivery and guide the account services team on the commercial/client service orientated content of accounts

  • Provide account management team members with high levels of strategic/commercial and where appropriate scientific input

  • Utilise business experience to provide guidance and training to account team members as needed, including developing and delivering training

    Responsibilities:

  • Strategically overseeing all key client accounts

  • P&L responsibility for all key client accounts

  • Ensuring client service & satisfaction across key client accounts

  • Contributing to the Company’s overall growth and revenue targets, as part of the senior leadership team

  • Development with other Directors of QC/QA process to ensure quality of deliverables

  • Line management of account services team working in a matrix structure with scientific editorial services and creative digital peers

  • Strategic new business growth

  • 10 years strategic experience working in a medical communications agency environment

  • 3 years Account Director experience ideally gained in a medical communications agency environment and across a broad range of international medical education/communications deliverables/therapy areas

  • Broad ranging and in depth strategic account services experience

  • Haematology and inflammation an advantage

  • Excellent people management and leadership abilities

  • Highly developed client and program management skills

  • Superb organisational, influencing, communications and collaboration skills

  • Ability to demonstrate innovation and creativity beyond client ideas

  • A life sciences degree and PhD (preferable)

  • Demonstrable drive and determination to succeed

  • Ability to find quick and clever ways to overcome difficulties

  • Confident in both client and company situations

  • Willing to learn new skills

  • Proficient in all areas of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Hardworking adaptable and can work confidently within a group

  • Ad Hoc responsibilities:

  • Accountable for personal supplies and IT hardware (including server housekeeping and software updates)

  • Organising and managing personal diary

  • Organising and carrying out administrative activities

  • Managing and tracking personnel expenses

  • Tracking time against client accounts and projects

  • Maintaining a polite and presentable image at all times
