Seven Education is looking for a ‘Head of Department’ in a baby room to work as a full-time permanent member of staff within established and popular day care nursery in Edenbridge. The ideal candidate will have a minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification in childcare or equivalent and 3 years + previous experience in a nursery setting. We are keen to receive applications from people who have a real passion for early years, proven experience of commitment and an enthusiastic attitude to build on their career within childcare. Room leader key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to a high standard of quality within the nursery, including practice, environment, and resources to meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Ensure your team are following COVID 19 procedures and processes
  • Prepare and supervise activities, and support children at all times
  • Ensure that equality of access and opportunity is provided to all children, parents, staff and visitors
  • Maintain a positive attitude at all times with children, parents, colleagues and visitors
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures and undertake a shared responsibility for cleanliness and health and safety throughout the nursery
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by line manager

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum Level 3 Early Years Childcare qualification
  • Experience working with babies is preferred
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures
  • 3 years or more experience of the EYFS and using it within a nursery setting
  • Enthusiastic, passionate, and full of ideas to encourage learning and development
  • Provide leadership and support to all playroom-based staff to enable them to establish and maintain professional positive working relationships with both colleagues, parents and carers
  • Deploy staff effectively to ensure the required standards are maintained
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by line manager
  • Assume additional management responsibilities as and when required
  • Able to provide references with 5 years of work history.
  • Proof of ability to work and Have a DBS on Update service (Criminal records check) or being willing to complete one and be willing to undertake other Safer Recruitment and safeguarding checks.
  • You’ll be working 40 hours a week over 4 days – 7:30am to 6:30pm.
