The School is a two- form entry, co-educational primary school with circa 450 pupils on roll, located in March in the Isle of Ely area of Cambridgeshire. The school converted to academy status in 2013, joining the Active Learning Trust, a MAT currently comprised of 21 schools arranged as 3 hubs based in Ipswich, Lowestoft and Cambridgeshire.

Formerly a good school, This School was placed in special measures in March 2015. A relentless focus on improvement led to a Requires Improvement judgement at its last Ofsted inspection in November 2016 and has been on a journey of improvement since. To maintain progress an Executive Headteacher, who is also the Principal of the local Active Learning Trust secondary academy and a National Leader of Education has been appointed and the school is currently safely in the hands of a long-term interim Headteacher this academic year. The trust is now looking to appoint a Headteacher to:

– Provide the inspirational leadership that will motivate children and staff to achieve their full potential

– Establish a clear vision for continuous improvement that both builds on the school’s strengths and successes and introduces rapid change where needed

– Set the highest expectations for the quality of learning and teaching enabling all children to develop a passion for learning

– Direct and empower the senior leadership teams within the school and across the local Trust schools to achieve their school improvement objectives
