Seven Social Care are looking for a temporary MASH Education Officer to work in Dudley. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £26.11 – £32.34 per hour.

The role:

To undertake Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) checks with Schools and Education settings (including Early Years/Colleges) to ascertain how the child presents/any safeguarding concerns, attendance and behaviour concerns, etc. and record case notes within the child’s records using Liquid Logic system.

To analyse presenting safeguarding concerns in conjunction with additional information provided by Schools and Education settings and discuss a threshold recommendation referencing Dudley’s Threshold framework.

To provide advice and support to Schools and Education settings regarding thresholds and referral pathways where high levels of service may be required for individual children and their families.

To ensure that Schools and Education settings are notified of any Domestic Abuse Response Team (DART) incidents and offer pastoral support to Designated Safeguarding Leads in relation to any children on their roll.

Key Responsibilities:

      To liaise with Schools and Education settings in gathering and sharing sensitive information, to determine the threshold of intervention to support individual children and their families.

To attend MARAC (Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference) in which information is shared on a high risk domestic abuse cases between representatives and where there are concerns about school aged children living in a household.

To record MARAC panel outcome on the child’s electronic case record and feedback to education settings in line with agency information sharing agreement

To attend the DART meetings and to carry out delegated actions form this multi-agency meeting.

To be responsible for discussing cases raised at DART and MARAC with Designated Safeguarding Leads in Schools and Education settings and sharing relevant information in accordance with agreed procedures, Terms of Reference and protocols.

To present information to MARAC including the child’s voice, whether allocated to Early Help or Social Care and if so name of allocated worker, child’s presentation at school and attendance, impact of DV upon the child, if known

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: N/A.
  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role.
  • Compliance: Current DBS check.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37 hours p/w.
