Seven Healthcare is looking for an Occupational Therapist to fill an exclusive opportunity in the Longton area in Stoke on Trent.
To provide a high quality and assessment based service for complex residents with mental health problems and learning disabilities. The aim is to maximise the ability and quality of life in accordance to the individual’s goals.
To continuously monitor and improve the quality of the services offered by implementing robust clinical governance arrangements and auditing services.
To provide education, information and choices to support and enable the patients and others involved in their care.
- The Team supports adults within their own homes where the primary need is physical disability with long term health conditions. The aim of OT intervention is to assist people to remain as independent as possible in the community and is an extremely rewarding role.
Primary Care OT colleagues are also a part of our team and we work closely together as an integrated service providing the best possible outcomes for our service group.
Knowledge of Moving and Handling people, specialist equipment, minor adaptation provision and assistive technology would be beneficial
To plan, develop and oversee individual service user programmes in like with assessment processes.
To plan, develop and oversee group activities for residents in line with assessments.
To have knowledge with ‘HoNOS’ and ‘MOHOST’.
To be proficient in report writing.
To record all measurable outcomes in a regular and concise manner.
To liaise with the Multi-Disciplinary Team both in house and externally if so directed.
To participate in review processes and statutory agencies i.e. CPA’s/reviews/etc.
To participate in unit training requirements in line with current legislative processes.
To promote the care homes development in line with both organisation expansion programmes and statutory requirements.
To promote the aims and principles of rehabilitation at all times.
To assist with development and auditing of Occupational Therapy services within Camino Healthcare.
To support and mentor students on work placements, including student nurses, OTs etc.
Qualifications: Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
Evidence of Post Graduate training.
Experience: Respect the confidentiality and privacy of patients and staff at all time – Health and Safety.
To comply with all aspects of the health and safety policies and to participate in mandatory training as required.
Maintain at all times a safe working environment and report any issues of concern as appropriate.
Applicants would benefit from having worked in a social care Occupational Therapy role previously or have experience of the community setting.
Compliance: HCPC Registration.
Travel: Full driving license and access to a car is essential as you must be able to travel to the various sites.
Hours: Full time, 5 days per week, 08.30am- 16.30pm
