Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Homelessness Prevention Assistant to work in Esher, Surrey. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £16 – £20 per hour (paid to you via an umbrella company).

The role:

You will play a key role in our busy Homelessness Prevention & Advice Team and help respond to the increased volume of requests for assistance we are currently receiving and expect to continue to receive. You will be one of the first point of contacts within the team for customers approaching our service where they are homeless or at risk of homelessness and your role will be focused on preventing their homelessness wherever possible and to assist with move on plans for those requiring accommodation.

Key Responsibilities:

      To offer assistance and support to Homelessness Prevention and Advice Officers as demand for the service increases.

To carry out initial contact with applicants and screening of cases and enquiries where a household states they are homeless or threatened with homelessness.

To focus on prevention of homelessness where possible and to manage its impact where unavoidable and to assist in move on plans.

To hold own caseload for cases at Prevention Stage keeping under review personalised Housing Plans as required by the Homelessness Reduction Act to ensure they remain relevant, motivating clients to be proactive in sustaining or seeking accommodation.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: N/A.
  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role.
  • Compliance: Current DBS check.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
