BBV Worker

Seven Resourcing is seeking a dedicated and skilled BBV (Blood-Borne Viruses) Worker specialising in Dry Blood Spot (DBS) Testing. The successful candidate will primarily be involved in performing and analysing DBS Tests to screen for BBVs.

Job Title: BBV Worker

Location: Norwich, Norfolk

Salary: £16 – £17 p/h

Contract: Full-time, Temporary

Key Responsibilities:

– Conducting Dry Blood Spot tests to identify blood-borne viruses.

– Participating in the maintenance of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety within the laboratory.

– Assessing and interpreting test results, following up with patients and healthcare professionals regarding the outcomes.

– Upholding strict confidentiality and privacy policies relative to patient information.

– Providing health education and counselling on BBVs to patients and their families when needed.

– Participating in continuous professional development to stay updated with the ongoing trends and advances in the field of virology and DBS Testing.

– Ensuring the maintenance and calibration of lab equipment and machinery.

– Documenting all performed tests, observations, interpretations, and test results accurately.

– Participating in clinical investigations and research studies concerning BBVs and DBS Testing, if required.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

– Prior experience in a similar role, ideally with hands-on experience in DBS Testing.

– Profound knowledge about blood-borne viruses, their diagnosis, and related safety precautions.

– Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

– Adherence to healthcare codes and regulations.
