Prison Nurse – (Registered General Nurse) RGN

A fantastic opportunity is now available for a dedicated and compassionate Registered General Nurse (RGN) to join the Seven Criminal Justice team in Leyland, UK. This is a fulfilling role where you’ll be providing exceptional nursing care within a unique setting.

Responsibilities:

1. Working directly with offenders to provide proactive, holistic and therapeutic nursing care.

2. Delivering patient-centered care by administering medication, managing chronic disease conditions, and developing individual care plans.

3. Conducting regular risk assessments to ensure the safety and well-being of all patients.

4. Coordinating with prison personnel, health and social care professionals, patients’ families and carers to provide continuous and consistent care.

5. Ensuring strict adherence to quality standards, policies, procedures and prison regulations.

6. Recording patient interactions, treatments, and observations accurately and comprehensively.

7. Contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.

Requirements:

1. Valid NMC Registration as an RGN.

2. Proven experience in a similar role, ideally in a prison setting, but not essential as comprehensive training is provided.

3. Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.

4. A compassionate and empathetic approach to nursing.

5. Ability to handle stressful and challenging situations.

6. Knowledge of current health and safety regulations.

7. Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
