Recovery Worker

Seven Criminal Justice are actively seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to serve as Recovery Workers in the borough of Merton. A Recovery Worker functions as an essential part of the multidisciplinary mental health team, focusing on providing high-quality care to individuals who are recovering from various mental health or substance misuse disorders.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Helping individuals to develop and implement their own recovery plans via one-on-one and group meetings, using therapeutic and holistic care methods.
2. Establish and maintain supportive relationships with service users, building trust and helping to maximize their potential for recovery.
3. Offer practical help and guidance to service users in managing their mental health issues or substance misuse, like providing resources for housing or job-seeking as needed.
4. Conduct regular assessments of service users’ needs, mapping their progress and making necessary adjustments to their recovery plan.
5. Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals, social workers, substance misuse teams, and family or friends involved in the individual’s care network.
6. Coordinate effectively between in-house and external services to ensure consistent support and care for the service users.
7. Educate family members and wider communities about the nature and challenges of recovery to cultivate understanding and support.
Qualifications & Skills:
1. Relevant experience or qualifications in mental health or social care.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Profound understanding of a person-centered approach to care.
4. High level of resilience combined with exceptional problem-solving capabilities.
5. Good knowledge of safeguarding procedures and the ability to adhere to professional boundaries.
6. Ability to work flexibly across various shifts, including weekends and evenings.
7. DBS Check (or willing to process this).
