Recovery Worker

Seven Criminal Justice are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Recovery Worker in Ipswich, UK. This role entails providing support to individuals recovering from substance misuse or mental health issues, imbuing them with a renewed sense of hope and self-efficacy as they navigate their journey towards lasting recovery and integration back into society.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide emotional and practical support to individuals as part of their recovery from substance misuse or mental health problems.
2. Develop and execute individual care plans and recovery strategies.
3. Conduct regular patient assessments to measure progress and adapt plans as necessary.
4. Coordinate with other professionals, such as therapists, social workers, and physicians, to ensure comprehensive care for the clients.
5. Facilitate both one-on-one and group therapeutic sessions as well as recreational activities to aid in recovery.
6. Advocate on behalf of the client to secure housing, employment, and other necessary resources.
7. Maintain accurate, confidential records of client interactions and progress.
8. Participate in continuous professional development activities to stay current with the latest best practices in the field.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
1. Previous experience working in recovery support or a similar role such as counseling or social work.
2. Relevant certifications or qualifications in health and social care.
3. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to empathize with clients and build trusting relationships.
4. Strong understanding of the recovery process and the challenges associated with substance misuse and mental health issues.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
6. Must pass all necessary background checks and possess a clean driving record.
7. First aid certified and trained in crisis intervention.
