Recovery Worker

Seven Criminal Justice are keen to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Recovery Worker in Hastings. The ideal candidate should have a passion for supporting vulnerable individuals on their recovery journeys and possess an innate ability to empathise and foster resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive needs assessments and develop suitable individual recovery plans.
2. Support clients through the process of recovery from issues like mental health, substance abuse, and other forms of addictions.
3. Foster a supportive environment focusing on a holistic approach to recovery encompassing emotional, mental, and physical wellness.
4. Maintain regular contact with clients, providing emotional support, encouragement and guidance.
5. Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams including psychological professionals, medical staff, and social workers.
6. Monitor the progress of clients, updating care plans as necessary and regularly liaising with care coordinators.
7. Safeguard the rights and dignity of clients, ensuring that their care is in line with good practice and legislation.
8. Coordinate with local organisations to provide job training and assistance with securing housing or educational opportunities.
9. Maintain accurate and confidential client records.
10. Assist in client advocacy, ensuring that clients’ views and wishes are considered in all decisions affecting their lives.
11. Deliver workshops and training sessions on topics related to recovery.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. A degree in a related field like psychology, counselling, or social work is highly desirable.
2. Previous experience in a similar role in recovery or community support services.
3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
4. Ability to maintain a calm demeanour in challenging situations.
5. Current DBS check.
6. Understanding of, and ability to work with, the issues facing those with mental health, substance misuse or homelessness issues.
7. CPR and First Aid Certification would be advantageous.
