Recovery Worker

Seven Criminal Justice are looking to recruit an empathetic and dedicated Recovery Worker in Birmingham, earning £20 per hour, to support individuals in their recovery from substance misuse. Drawing upon your understanding, previous experience or qualifications, you will provide aid and advice for those struggling with addiction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conducting intake interviews with new clients and assessing their needs.

2. Creating personalized recovery plans based on individual circumstances, requirements, and goals.

3. Assisting clients in their recovery process through counselling, therapy, and education.

4. Liaising with external support services and referring clients where necessary.

5. Facilitating group sessions and workshops on substance misuse, health/well-being, and recovery strategies.

6. Monitoring client progress, evaluating the effectiveness of recovery plans and making necessary adjustments.

7. Assisting with the reintegration of individuals into society and supporting their journey towards independence.

8. Ensuring confidentiality and respect for clients at all times and adhering to data protection regulations.

Qualifications & Experience:

1. Qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care, Counselling, Psychology or a related field.

2. Previous experience working with individuals dealing with substance abuse would be advantageous.

3. An understanding of the sensitivity and complexity surrounding the issues of addiction and recovery.

4. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and listening skills.

5. Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends if necessary.

6. A valid DBS check.

2. Possession of strong multi-tasking, organisational and crisis intervention skills.

3. Willingness to follow protocols and standards while remaining open to new recovery methodologies and theories.

4. A positive and resilient attitude, with the ability to deal with challenging situations.
