Senior Substance Misuse Nurse

Seven Criminal Justice are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Substance Misuse Nurse to join our team in Cardiff. This is a key role, providing nursing care for individuals in recovery from substance misuse, while also providing critical leadership and support to our team of healthcare professionals. Working hours will be based on shift patterns, which may include evenings and weekends.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide high-quality clinical care and support to patients with substance misuse issues, including but not limited to assessments, detoxification, stabilisation, and harm reduction initiatives.
2. Lead and mentor a team of nurses and other associated healthcare professionals, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
3. Liaise with other healthcare and social care professionals to create comprehensive care plans that are sensitive to each patient’s needs.
4. Provide relevant health education and advice to patients and their families.
5. Monitor, record and report changes in the patients’ condition, while ensuring comprehensive patient records.
6. Manage resources effectively, ensuring compliance with all relevant clinical governance standards.
7. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, making significant contributions to decision-making and strategic planning procedures.
Qualifications & Experiences:
1. An active NMC Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD).
2. Significant experience working in a substance misuse or detox setting.
3. Current knowledge of substance misuse issues and treatment methodologies.
4. Good organisational and time management skills.
5. Ability to work cohesively within a team while also possessing the ability to work autonomously.
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
