Substance Misuse Nurse

Seven Criminal Justice are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Misuse Nurse to join our team in Stevenage. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care, support, and consultation services to individuals who are experiencing issues related to substance misuse.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct patient assessments to determine individual needs and create personalized care plans.
2. Provide nursing care services for patients with substance misuse issues, such as health screenings, medication management, wound care, and aftercare for detox patients.
3. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other nurses in treatment planning and implementation.
4. Educate patients and their families about substance misuse and available treatments.
5. Monitor patients’ progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
6. Help patients in coping with the physical symptoms and psychological effects of withdrawal.
7. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records.
8. Adhere to local, state, and national laws and regulations in regards to substance misuse treatment and care.
9. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
1. A valid nursing license in the UK.
2. Experience in substance misuse nursing or a similar role.
3. Knowledge of various substance misuse treatment options and interventions.
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
6. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from various backgrounds and with different needs.
7. Committed to promoting patient health, safety, and comfort.
8. Empathetic and understanding, with strong boundary-setting abilities.
