Substance Misuse Nurse

Seven Criminal Justice are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Substance Misuse Nurse to join our dedicated team in Gloucester. You will be responsible for the provision of high-quality nursing care to individuals dealing with various forms of substance misuse.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive client assessments to identify their needs related to substance misuse.
2. Develop and implement individual care plans, taking into account the specific needs of each client.
3. Deliver prescribed medication and monitor the effects, paying particular attention to potential side effects and withdrawal symptoms.
4. Counsel clients and their families, helping them understand the nature of addiction and the recovery process.
5. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals to address the physical, psychological and social needs of clients.
6. Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of clients’ treatment and progress.
7. Participate in regular training and professional development to stay updated on current best practices in the field of substance misuse nursing.
8. Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all ethical guidelines and standards of the nursing profession.
Qualifications:
1. Registered Nurse with active NMC registration.
2. Degree or equivalent in nursing.
3. Experience working in a substance misuse, addictions, or mental health setting.
4. Good understanding of substance misuse issues and the recovery process.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Commitment to and understanding of confidentiality, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Willingness to participate in continuing professional development.
