Substance Misuse Recovery Worker

  • Salary: £20 - £23 per hour

We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join our team in Preston. The ideal candidate will provide diligent support and assistance to individuals recovering from substance misuse, fostering a safe environment conducive to recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Be the first point of contact, providing advice and support for individuals affected by substance misuse.

2. Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the best course of action for each individual, developing personalised treatment plans in line with best practice guidelines.

3. Facilitate recovery-focused group sessions and one-on-one sessions.

4. Regularly update and maintain accurate client records, ensuring confidentiality and data protection regulations are adhered to.

5. Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide a holistic approach to substance misuse recovery.

6. Connect clients with additional resources and services, such as employment services or housing aid.

7. Develop and maintain a strong understanding of local resources and services beneficial to clients’ recovery.

Job Requirements:

1. A certificate or diploma in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, or a related field is required.

2. Previous experience in a similar role and knowledge of various treatment methodologies is essential.

3. Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.

4. Expertise in crisis intervention and a strong understanding of safeguarding.

5. Knowledge of local resources and services is advantageous.

6. Must have a non-judgmental approach and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

7. Ability to work flexibly in a dynamic and challenging work environment.

8. Must be eligible to work in the UK.
