Substance Misuse Worker

Seven Criminal Justice are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Substance Misuse Worker to join our team based in Cambridge, UK. The ideal candidate will have experience and a proven track record of supporting individuals recovering from substance misuse, providing guidance and identifying harmful behaviours, with a view to assisting their path to recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To provide intensive support to individuals dealing with substance misuse issues, including drugs and alcohol.
2. Conducting regular assessments to determine the client’s needs and creating personalised support plans.
3. Working directly with service users on a one-to-one basis and sometimes as part of a group to assist with their recovery.
4. Coordinating with other professionals, such as social workers, mental health specialists, police and probation officers, to provide a comprehensive support system.
5. Facilitating access to relevant services and healthcare providers.
6. Providing harm reduction advice and promoting personal health, well-being and self-management.
7. Deliver regular progressive reports on service users, and attending case meetings.
8. Support and encourage service users to engage in local communities and support them with reintegration.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
1. Relevant qualification in social care, nursing, or related field is mandatory.
2. Proven experience working in a substance misuse role or similar field.
3. Strong understanding of confidentiality and data protection regulations.
4. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people.
5. Knowledge of techniques for dealing with individuals with substance misuse problems and supporting them towards recovery.
6. Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
7. A non-judgemental approach, patience and empathy are crucial.
