Substance Misuse Worker

Seven Criminal Justiceorganization is seeking a dedicated Substance Misuse Worker to join our team in Guildford, UK. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding and passion for assisting individuals dealing with substance misuse, addiction, and related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To provide support to clients struggling with substance misuse issues, developing individual treatment strategies and plans based on their unique needs.
2. Actively participate and contribute to multi-disciplinary team meetings to review progress and plan further actions.
3. Administer regular assessments to identify the needs, risks and recovery of the service users.
4. Offer harm reduction advice and intervention, including but not limited to needle exchange services, overdose prevention and alcohol awareness.
5. Facilitate group sessions and workshops focused on psychoeducation around substance misuse and mental health.
6. Liaise and coordinate with potential support networks available to service users such as local community groups, statutory services, and relevant non-statutory services.
7. Maintain accurate, up-to-date records (both electronic and paper) keeping in line with GDPR and other data protection regulations.
8. Engage with local community outreach programs to prevent drug and alcohol misuse.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
1. Require a Degree/Diploma in relevant field (nursing, social work, counselling etc.) 2. Proven experience of working in the substance misuse sector or closely related environment.
3. Sound understanding of substance misuse issues and harm reduction strategies.
4. Excellent communication, interpersonal and team working skills.
5. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
6. Ability to work independently, establish priorities, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
7. DBS check clearance.
