Substance Misuse Worker

Seven Criminal Justice are looking to hire a dedicated and compassionate Substance Misuse Worker to provide exceptional support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance misuse in Margate. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who is passionate about making a tangible impact in the fight against substance misuse.

Responsibilities:

1. Identify service users who have substance misuse issues and work with them to develop appropriate recovery plans.

2. Provide one-to-one and group-based interventions, often focused on harm minimisation and motivational interviewing techniques.

3. Work effectively with other healthcare professionals, social workers and local service providers for effective service delivery.

4. Conduct regular assessments to measure the progress of service users, modifying the interventions as necessary.

5. Educate service users and families about substance misuse, promoting awareness about health and wellbeing.

6. Offer emotional assistance to service users and their families during treatment.

7. Ensure all documentation and client records are maintained in compliance with our data protection policy.

8. Participate in regular supervision and team meetings to maintain and improve the quality of the services provided.

Qualifications:

1. Degree or diploma in health and social care, counseling, psychology, sociology, or a related field.

2. Previous experience working in a similar role.

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

4. Ability to work flexibly and handle crisis situations.

5. Full UK driving license is preferable.
