Substance Misuse Worker

Seven Criminal Justice are looking for a compassionate and committed individual to join us as a Substance Misuse Worker. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, a solid understanding of substance misuse issues, and the desire to make a profound difference in the lives of individuals struggling with addiction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals to determine their needs and formulate a personalised treatment plan.
2. Provide one-to-one support, advice, and guidance to persons struggling with substance misuse problems.
3. Help clients carry out their treatment plans effectively and monitor their progress regularly.
4. Work collaboratively with other professionals such as therapists, social workers, and medical staff to ensure clients are receiving comprehensive care.
5. Promote harm reduction strategies and provide advice about detoxification and rehabilitation services.
6. Provide emotional support to families and friends of individuals with substance misuse problems.
7. Develop and implement community education and prevention programs to sensitize the public about substance misuse.
8. Keep accurate and up-to-date records of patients treatment progression.
Key Requirements:
1. A degree in counselling, social work, psychology, or related field.
2. Extensive experience in a similar role or in substance misuse treatment.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of the issues surrounding substance misuse and the impact on individual health and society.
4. An understanding of the treatment options and resources available for substance misuse.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. Ability to handle stressful situations and maintain confidentiality.
7. Certification in substance abuse counseling is a plus.
8. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if required.
