Substance Misuse Worker

Seven Criminal Justice are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Misuse Worker to join our team in Peterborough. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives and contribute towards combating substance misuse at the community level.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Provide one-to-one counselling and support to individuals dealing with substance misuse issues.

2. Work hand in hand with other social, health, and non-governmental agencies to provide cohesive care for clients.

3. Conduct assessments and create personalized recovery plans.

4. Facilitate group therapy sessions.

5. Provide education and advice about substance misuse to clients, their families, and the wider community.

6. Monitor and report on, clients’ progress during treatment.

7. Advocate for the rights of individuals living with substance misuse issues.

8. Help clients rebuild relationships and reintegrate into society.

9. Consistory update your knowledge regarding changes in substance misuse treatment methodologies.

 

Qualifications:

1. A degree in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, or a related field. Alternatively, relevant equivalent work experience will also be considered.

2. Experience working with individuals dealing with substance misuse is preferred.

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

4. Knowledge of the current legislation and boundaries relating to substance misuse.

5. Ability to provide empathy and a non-judgmental approach.

6. CRB/DBS check clearance.

7. Flexibility in working hours as per the needs of the clients.

8. Knowledge of local community resources will be an added advantage.
