Substance Misuse Worker

Seven Criminal Justice are currently seeking to hire a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Substance Misuse Worker in Woking. As a Substance Misuse Worker, you will be responsible for providing specialist substance misuse advice and support to our diverse clients. The candidate will be integral in helping individuals manage their substance use and navigate their recovery journey.
Responsibilities:
1. Deliver structured one-on-one and group interventions to individuals dealing with substance misuse.
2. Complete assessments, devise person-centered recovery plans, and manage risk within the parameters of established organisational protocols.
3. Provide harm-reduction advice and needle exchange service where necessary.
4. Liaise with, and make referrals to, other agencies as required, including health and social services.
5. Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection legislation.
6. Keep accurate and timely records of interventions, support, and assessments provided, using appropriate systems and procedures.
7. Attend statutory reviews, care planning meetings, and case conferences, providing reports as required.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience working in substance misuse, addiction, or similar field.
2. Possess relevant professional qualifications in health, social care or counselling.
3. Demonstrable ability to work under pressure and manage crisis situations effectively.
4. Strong communication skills with the ability to empathise and engage with clients effectively.
5. Good understanding of safeguarding practices, equality and diversity, and confidentiality.
