Substance Misuse Worker

Seven Criminal Justice are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Substance Misuse Worker to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for providing essential support and treatment to individuals struggling with substance misuse and working tirelessly to help them overcome their dependencies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conducting comprehensive assessments of clients to determine their treatment needs.

2. Developing personalised care plans tailored to each client’s specific needs.

3. Providing keywork sessions that will include motivational interviewing, relapse prevention strategies, and lifelong recovery planning.

4. Liaising with multi-disciplinary teams and external agencies to support the recovery of clients.

5. Administering medication as part of a client’s recovery plan, under the guidance of healthcare professionals.

6. Ensuring all case documentation is up to date and complies with the highest standards of data privacy.

7. Continuously monitoring and evaluating clients’ progress through their recovery program.

8. Delivering evidence-based psycho-social interventions.

9. Promoting health, well-being, and social inclusion.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

1. A degree or equivalent in counselling, social work, or a related discipline.

2. Previous experience in a similar role, specifically with substance misuse clients.

3. The ability to empathise with clients whilst maintaining professional boundaries.

4. An understanding of the issues faced by people affected by substance misuse.

5. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and external agencies.

6. Proficient in maintaining accurate records and handling confidential information.

7. Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice guidelines.

8. Current registration with a professional body would be desirable.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check. The post is subject to references and a DBS check.
