Advisory Teacher – Children and Young People with Visual Impairment

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Advisory Teacher to work with Children and Young People with Visual Impairment in Haringey. This position is initially for a period of 2 months and is paying £23.24 (PAYE) or £29.23 (umbrella). The role would involve working 2 days per week.
The role:
This role is a new post within Haringey and is within the newly established Haringey Visual Impairment Team. The service was previously commissioned from the RNIB
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, successful and supportive team of specialist Advisory Teachers in Haringey including Teachers of the Deaf, Language and Autism, Portage and Early Years inclusion Teams. The team provide advice, information & support for children, young people, families and professionals in all settings to ensure that all children and young people are sensitively supported to reach their full potential.
We are looking for a qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of the Visually Impaired who is interested in developing their skills further. You need to demonstrate considerable knowledge and successful experience of working with visually impaired children and young people. This job will require you to work with children and young people from birth to 19 years of age
You need to be able to work independently and have good communication and liaison skills with key people/professionals involved. You will need to be organised and flexible, managing your own diary. This is a peripatetic role and you will be based in Haringey Special Educational Needs Department in Wood Green but will need to travel.
Applicant Requirements:
Qualifications:
- University Degree at grade 2:2 or above.
Experience: 1+ year of post-graduate experience as a Teacher in the UK.
Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS and 2 x references.
Hours: 13 hours p/w.
