Early Help Practice Lead

Seven Resourcing are looking for 2 temporary Early Help Practice Lead’s to work with Sheffield City Council. These positions are initially for a period of 3 months and the hourly rate is £16.40 (PAYE) or £20.27 (umbrella) per hour. The h ours are 37 per week and involve working 8.45-5.15pm Monday to Thursday with a 4.45pm finish on a Friday.

The role:

Provide early help and effective high quality support to children, young people and families identified as having additional needs. Enable children and young people to be safe, secure and nurtured within their home and community, encourage resilience, good emotional & physical health, and facilitate access to positive activities, so that they can achieve their full potential.

Lead for developing and sharing best practice by training, upskillng and supporting families, colleagues, students and partner agencies

All post holders are expected to work to the standards described in the Early Help Knowledge and Skills Framework at the Early Help Lead Practitioner Level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works to and champions the Early Help Practice Guidance, acting as a role model for other roles in Early Help.
  • Train, support/supervise and upskill students, mentors, colleagues and partner agencies linked to the service and supports the induction of new team members.
  • D eliver personal and practical support to the children/young people and their family, for better health, wellbeing, educational outcomes for the child/young person.
  • Hold and effectively manage an early help caseload with complex needs, carrying out direct work with vulnerable children, young person and their family to assess their needs, agree a plan of whole family support with them and other professionals as relevant. Acting as lead practitioner for non statutory cases or providing intensive family support for statuory cases under the direction of the social worker.
  • Provides high quality case work using the Signs of Safety practice framework, solution-focused approaches, and evidence-informed positive parenting and sleep interventions.
  • Supports improved family functioning by modelling behaviour, conduct, social interaction, parenting, and practical skills, to families with complex needs using observation, prompts and  constructive strengths-based feedback.

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications:

        Level 4 Qualification or equivalent experience in in Social Care, Early Years, Education, Early Help or Youth Work (minimum of 3 years working with children, young people or families).

Experience: 1+ year of experience working within a similar role. 

Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS and references covering the last 3 years. 

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours: 37 hours p/w.
