Early Years Officer – Room Leader

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Early Years Officer/Room Leader to work in Slough. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £18.44 per hour (paid to you via an umbrella company). The working hours are 7.45am-4.15pm from Monday to Friday. This role is term time only.
The role:
To be part of the management team of the early years provision in a children’s Centre/family hub to assist with financial sustainability and support staff to deliver effective early years provision in line with statutory requirements.
To jointly oversee a Children’s Centre staff team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality early years provision that promotes and supports the needs of all children through effective holistic care and education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Key Responsibilities:
- To manage all aspects of the daily operation of an area or age group including staff supervision and deployment, curriculum and educational planning, setting up and maintaining children’s records and health, safety and welfare procedures, including safeguarding.
- To provide full care and supervision for the children, ensuring that all their needs are met, working in close partnership with staff from local primary schools on site to provide fully integrated care and education and smooth transition from one phase to the next.
- To promote high standards of behaviour and discipline and to uphold the setting’s policies on equalities and inclusion.
- To liaise with and support parents and carers of the children cared for.
- To work in partnership with staff from schools and agencies, including network childminders, in order to deliver multi-agency services to parents and children in the local neighbourhood.
- To ensure that resources are used cost-effectively.
- To assist with drawing up and implementing policies and procedures, ensuring that the OFSTED standards are met and records kept as required.
- To help promote and market the setting with parents, local schools, other early years settings and the local community.
- To organise and chair planning and staff meetings and to attend meetings with the management team as required.
Applicant Requirements:
- Qualifications: NVQ in Childcare or Early Years.
- Experience: 1+ year of experience within a similar role.
- Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS and 2 x references.
- Hours: 37 hours p/w.
