Hearing Impairment Specialist Teacher

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Hearing Impairment Specialist Teacher to work with Hillingdon Council. This position is for 14 hours per week and the contract is initially for a period of 4 months. The hourly rate is £34.33 PAYE or £42.70 Umbrella.

The role:

This is an opportunity for an experienced teacher with a specialism in hearing impairment to work as part of an innovative & established Sensory Intervention Team. This is an all-age service for residents with a sensory impairment.

This role is specifically to deliver peripatetic support to children and young people with a hearing impairment and their families. The role works across the full age range, in a variety of settings including nurseries, schools and colleges. The Team is dedicated to maximising inclusion and learning by providing advice, training and carrying out assessments and teaching.

The Sensory Intervention team is a diverse, friendly and supportive team, which works in partnership with key agencies to deliver early intervention programmes, as well as statutory duties across settings and the community. All team members have regular support and supervision and quality induction upon joining the service.

You will support a small team of professionals to ensure that a joined up service is being provided, and that children and young people with SEND are being supported to fulfil their potential. You will work in partnership with educational settings across the borough to identify and support children who may have special educational needs or disabilities, which includes providing training where required.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: University Degree at grade 2:2 or above.
  • Experience: 1+ year of post-graduate experience within a similar role.
  • Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS and references covering the last 3 years.
  • Hours: 14 hours p/w.
