Seven Education is looking for an Electrical Engineering Lecturer South Thames Colleges Group

The role:

The focus of this role is to teach both HE and FE vocational courses related to engineering, predominantly on vocational Level 2/3 programmes within the school.

You will be responsible for the recruitment, conduct and progress of all students on these courses in line with College and School policies and procedures and ensuring the provision, for these students, of high quality pastoral support.

The specific required areas of engineering are Level 2/3 programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical & electronic principles, Industrial Process Controllers and electrical machines although offering other engineering areas up to Level 5 would be an advantage e.g. microcontrollers, electronics.

You may be asked to contribute also to the HE teaching in vocational engineering. A key focus is in helping the Head of Section ensure that your students meet and exceed their target grades and supporting members of the teaching team.

This role is about providing a high-quality student experience and outstanding outcomes in Engineering. The role encompasses working on teaching schemes, assessment schedules (including coursework) and student monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching theoretical and practical workshop sessions relating to Level 2/3 Engineering/Maintenance apprentices and full time Level 2-5 students studying Engineering subjects.

Conduct the assessment and monitoring of candidates on such courses; complete all administrative work connected with the assessments.

Keep and maintain accurate records of all forms of assessments according to the College and awarding body requirements.

Provide prompt and constructive feedback to candidates soon after assessment.
