Learning Support Assistant

Seven Resourcing are looking for a Learning Support Assistant / Teaching Assistant to work in a School in Stockbridge, Hampshire. Working in a Year 1 class.

This position is until the end of the academic year,  working Monday to Friday 08:30 – 15:30.

The Hourly rate is £12.00 – £15.00.

The role:

Experienced TA / LSA – Provide support for the teacher and pupils working with an individual or groups in the classroom and promote a love of learning for our pupils and to enable them to make progress towards positive academic and EHCP outcomes. To always safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young adults.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring pupils are kept on task and complete activities set by teachers.
• Deal with behavioural and special needs issues in conjunction with the teacher.
• Help implement lesson plans to support for curriculum, assist with testing and assessment.
• Detect signs of behavioural issues, work with outside health, social and enforcement agencies, maintain behaviour management standards of children, some of whom can be especially challenging and difficult with complex needs, deal with racial/abusive language and bullying.
• An LSA 3, due to training and expertise, will normally carry a specific specialist responsibility (eg. Speech therapy) and support and develop other staff in the school when help is needed in this area.

Applicant Requirements:

• Qualifications: Relevant qualification in Teaching and Learning, trained to NVQ3 standard.
• Experience: Supporting children and/or young people with SEN, Minimum of 2 years relevant experience. Enhanced DBS/Children’s Barred List check, Experience working with Students with Autism is Crucial.
• Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Enhanced DBS/Children’s Barred List check and clean UK Driving licence.
