Maths Specialist Tutor

Seven Education is looking for a Maths Specialist Tutor to provide high quality teaching, and support for learners in the post 16 education sector in Tower Hamlets. This role will be paying roughly between £20 – £30 per hour.
The role:
This role provides high quality teaching and learning in the Post 16 Sector for Tower Hamlets Council. The postholder will assist the Skills for Life Manager and Assistant Programme Managers with Maths curriculum development for the Idea Store Learning programmes of adult, family and young people’s learning.
The postholder will contribute to the promotion and development of a culture of lifelong learning in Tower Hamlets and promote continuous quality improvement and good practice in teaching and learning, including the development of high standard teaching and learning materials
Key Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for delivering excellent teaching and learning on a range of accredited and RARPAP assessed Maths programmes across the borough.
- You will assist the curriculum managers to develop courses, schemes of work and assessment strategies which meet the wide-ranging needs of learners across the borough including delivering to national and regional initiatives such as Multiply.
- Complete all required learner journey activities including initial and diagnostic assessment, individual learning plans, schemes of work, lesson plans, learner reviews, learning materials and premises and all other quality improvement documentation relating to the delivery of teaching and learning.
- Undertake regular reviews of curriculum delivery, targets, and achievement and standards alongside the Skills for Life Manager and Assistant Programme Managers.
- Contribute to and participate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and staff training programmes to improve the quality of teaching and learning and to raise standards of achievement.
Applicant Requirements:
- Qualifications: Successful applicants will hold a subject specialism in maths (at level 5 or above) and hold a PGCE (or equivalent teaching qualification)
- Experience: 1+ year of post-graduate experience as a Teacher in the UK. Knowledge and experience of teaching mixed ability groups as well as knowledge and understanding of current best practice in teaching and learning is essential.
- Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK.
