Nursery Manager

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Nursery Manager to work in Bristol. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £28.14 per hour (paid to you via an umbrella company – PAYE options are available. The role will 30 hours per week.

The role:

Expected to undertake specialist activities within a nursery including flexible day-care, pre-school and crèche facilities, and make decisions using skills that have been gained through academic or professional qualifications and practical experience.

Typically roles at this level deliver a specific service, are part of a collaborative team responsible for professional activities within an overall service and contribute to specific service developments. Roles at this level will often be involved in supervising/managing the work of others or their professional development within an overall management framework.

To meet statutory requirements the Nursery Manager must have the capacity to ensure quality and regulatory requirements, which means they will not regularly be included in the child to staff statutory ratios, except for emergency cover.

 

Key Responsibilities:

      To ensure the smooth running of the facilities and develop a framework for plans/programme of activities to meet the needs of service users in accordance with Ofsted requirements

Assess the risk and care needs of service users and work with a framework for care interventions to meet their needs, managing complex service users, knowing when to escalate safeguarding concerns.

Lead responsibility for the under 5’s Early Help Offer that includes case recording and ‘Team around the Family/child meetings’. To work in close partnership with colleagues in Early Years and Children Centres, Health and any other interested parties to support partner agencies and families access the Early Help Offer. Work in partnership with other agencies to provide support and advice to children and families as detailed within the assessment framework/service programme.

To ensure the nursery complies with the necessary Ofsted and other regulatory standards and develop a quality assurance scheme to evaluate early years activities.

To maintain budgets and prepare financial reports. Develop the admissions policy and fee payment structure with NSC partners and access funding opportunities to assist in payments of fees.

To ensure the nursery proactively complies with the NSSCB interagency working guidelines, and all statutory requirements to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

Take a lead role in preparing publicity materials and marketing information to develop and maintain the nursery position within the community within an overall service plan in partnership with relevant NSC departments.

Undertake the supervision, management, recruitment and development of others to improve service standards and achieve service delivery within the regulatory framework.

Prepare regular management information for the various management groups and boards.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 or above.
  • Experience: 1+ year of experience as a Nursery Manager.
  • Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS check and references covering the last 5 years.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 30 hours p/w.
