PEP Officer (Virtual School)

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary PEP Officer to work with the Virtual School in Wokingham. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £15.00 (PAYE) or £18.83 (umbrella) per hour. The working hours are 30 hours per week (the days you work are flexible).  This role is a virtual role however the team do meet roughly once every 8 weeks in the office. The successful candidate will also need to attend Shute End for the induction day which will take no more than 3 hours.

The role:

To be the Personal Education Plan Officer for up to 18 children in care. This would include the following:

  • To hold a caseload of up to 18 children in care, attending PEP meetings and ensuring that PEPs were completed in full and in a timely manner.
  • To attend Children in Care Review meetings and other professional meetings as appropriate.
  • Monitor exclusions of those children on your caseload, supporting or challenging schools and ensuring appropriate provision is put in place.
  • Responsible for monitoring, reporting on and improving attendance and attainment.
  • Responsible for influencing school leaders and other professionals to progress individual cases to remove barriers to access to education.
  • Be aspirational for the educational attainment, outcomes and experiences for all children and young people in the care of the LA whether placed in or out of the Borough.
  • Support the Virtual Head in driving forward cultural, workforce and other changes necessary to ensure services cohere around young people’s needs and secure improvement outcomes.

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications:

      University Degree at grade 2:2 or above.

Experience: 1+ year of post-graduate experience as a Teacher in the UK.

Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS and 2 x references. 

Hours: 30 hours p/w.
