Personal Education Plan (PEP) Co-ordinator

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Personal Education Plan (PEP) Coordinator to work in Worthing. This position is initially for a period of 6 months and is paying £14.17 (PAYE) or £17.41 (umbrella) per hour. The working hours are Monday – Friday from 9am – 5:30pm.
The role:
The Virtual School Personal Education Plan (PEP) co-ordinator will undertake a number of vital tasks to ensure that the Virtual School team can fulfil their roles under the statutory duty requirements. Working in partnership with our colleagues in social care and education you will ensure that all education planning meetings take place in a timely manner and support the needs of our children. You will be the key point of contact for those seeking advice and information about PEPs and the wider work of the Virtual School, including casework for individual children.
Key Responsibilities:
- To champion the educational rights of all children looked after by West Sussex in order to improve their school experience and academic outcomes.
- To work in collaboration with social workers, schools and other professional colleagues to ensure that all children looked after have regular and meaningful PEP meetings focused on raising academic achievement and attainment.
- To facilitate small group training and provide telephone support for social workers and designated teachers using the ePEP system (specialist database for the creation and recording of PEPs).
- To ensure that the PEP database is up-to-date and accurate, adding and deleting users as required.
- Co-ordinate and support the Virtual School team in providing robust quality assurance of PEPs to ensure that all statutory duties are being met.
- To provide advice and guidance to a range of professional colleagues pertaining to the quality of work and development of practice standards.
Applicant Requirements:
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 in a relevant subject or equivalent qualification or experience, demonstrating the same level of applied knowledge in researching, analysing and evaluating arguments and information.
Experience: Experience of working within or alongside colleagues in education or children’s social care.
Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS and references covering the last 5 years.
Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
Hours: 37 hours p/w.
