SEN Case Officer

Seven Resourcing are looking for 2 temporary SEN Case Officers to work in Romford. These positions are initially for a period of 3 months and are paying £204.74 per day (paid to you via an umbrella company). The role will involve working Monday – Friday from 9am – 5:30pm. The role is hybrid.
The role:
Responsible to the Assessment and Placement Team Manager for duties associated with statutory functions in relation to the implementation of the new SEND Code of Practice and Adult Social Care’s Assessment processes.
To undertake a key role in the newly created Assessment and Placement team. The team is responsible for carrying out all the statutory assessments as part of the EHC and LDD planning processes. The team will work closely with the Children and Adults with Disabilities Commissioning and Procurement Team and the Children and Adult Support Service, to ensure there is a streamlined process to assess, support, commission and place all service users, based on the “Asset Model” of working.
The postholder will carry out person centred, outcome based statutory assessments. They will work closely with children and young people, their families and their carers, and with early years settings, schools, colleges, independent, supported and residential placements.
Key Responsibilities:
- To act as named person to whom parents, children, young people, Adult Services and their carers can relate whilst the above procedures are being completed.
- To attend meetings/case conferences, as appropriate, in order to resolve conflicts of opinion between all parties including service users.
- To prepare Education, Health and Care Plans, both in their proposed and substantive form using person centred approaches and the “Asset Model” approach, ensuring parents, children and young people, wherever possible, sit at the heart of the process, resolving any outstanding issues as required.
- To manage a caseload of cases.
- To deal with the day to day queries that arise from case work.
- To assist, where necessary, in the preparation of the Local Authority’s case to be made before the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal.
- To support the attendance at meetings with Judicial Reviews and Coroner’s Court and other Professionals to ensure that there is a multi-agency approach to addressing pupils’ needs, ensuring person centred approaches are used at all times.
- To oversee the arrangements for the annual review of all Education, Health, Care and LDD Reviews.

Experience: 1+ year of experience working within a similar role.
Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS and 2 x references.
Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
