Sessional Tutor – Adult Learning Service

Seven Resourcing are looking for a Sessional Tutor to work with the Adult Learning Team in Redcar. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £13.71 – £16.78 per hour (PAYE and Umbrella payment options are available).

The role:

To deliver teaching and learning across various venues for Redcar & Cleveland’s Adult Service.

Key Responsibilities:

      Be responsible and develop course scheme of work, lesson plans, learning materials and undertake preparation prior to teaching course sessions and follow up work after each session

Identify individual needs within the context of the curriculum area using appropriate Individual Learning Plans (ILPs)

Be responsible for course induction and guidance and give regular advice to learners concerning their progression, achievement and success

To coordinate and facilitate classroom management and promote and support improvement by ensuring the highest standard within the observation of teaching and learning process (OTL)

To contribute and support the Adult Learning Service in the annual Self assessment Report (SAR) and in any inspection as required and comply with standards established by the LSC, OfSTED inspectorate and Awarding Bodies.

Develop and share expertise in the curriculum area and attend appropriate meetings. Identify new developments and advise managers of specific subject legislation in the curriculum area and participate in continual professional development (CPD) as required by the Institute for Learning.

Be the lead contact for Information Advice and Guidance for learners within the appropriate curriculum area

Be responsible for active recruitment, retention and attendance monitoring of learners

Be responsible for accreditation including ongoing assessment of learners and follow the Examination Board protocol and procedures, including liaising with Internal and External Verifiers and attending meetings including standardisation.

Be responsible for inputting learner details regarding attendance, accreditation and progression onto Management Information System.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: University Degree at grade 2:2 or above.
  • Experience: 1+ year of experience within a similar role.
  • Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS check and 2 x references.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: Sessional.
