Sessional Tutor – Maths

Seven Resourcing are looking for a Sessional Maths Tutor to work with an adult learning service in Bootle. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £20.81 per hour (paid to you via an umbrella company). The hours will be variable and based upon the number of courses requested by partners. Hours could be zero on occasion and substantial at other times.

The role:

To teach learners within the centre and external venues a range of qualification led courses and to carry out such other associated duties as are reasonably assigned by the curriculum manager.

Key Responsibilities:

      Deliver the curriculum as relevant to the ability group/subject/s that you teach ranging from Entry level 1 to GCSE

Be responsible for the preparation and development of teaching materials, teaching programmes and pastoral arrangements as appropriate

Be accountable for the attainment, progress and outcomes of learners you teach

Be aware of learner capabilities, their prior knowledge and plan teaching and differentiate appropriately to build on these demonstrating knowledge and understanding of how learners learn

Have a clear understanding of the needs of all learners, including those with special educational needs; gifted and talented; disabilities; and be able to use and evaluate distinctive teaching approaches to engage and support them

Demonstrate an understanding of and take responsibility for promoting high standards of literacy including the correct use of spoken English (whatever your specialist subject)

Set, mark and return homework including feedback to learners in accordance with the adult literacy and numeracy core curriculum and syllabus

Participate in arrangements for examinations and assessments including internal verification activities external verification activities and liaison with differing awarding bodies

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Relevant teaching qualifications.
  • Experience: 1+ year of post-graduate experience working as a Maths Tutor in the UK.
  • Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS check and references covering the last 3 years.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: Sessional.
