Skills Support Instructor

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Skills Support Instructor to work in Plymouth. This position is initially for a period of 4 months and is paying £14.41 (PAYE) or £17.50 (umbrella) per hour. The working hours are Monday – Friday from 9am – 5:30pm. 

The role:

In this Post-16 education specialist role, you will instruct, support and enable CYP (16-25), from across the City, to participate in activities and residentials as part of a short break programme for those with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), identified complex needs and those with other disadvantages as part of the delivery of a new Your Future project.

You will work proactively, as part of a team across departments and with partners to facilitate and support the learning of CYP to widen their experience and progress their skills towards gainful employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist instruction and learning support to CYP to engage with class-based learning and activities that embed skills for adulthood and employability in response to individual needs including facilitating provision of Additional Learner Support (ALS) where appropriate.
  • Facilitate specialist instruction and support for CYP to enable attendance on short residentials in pre-arranged educational locations. 
  • Provide excellent customer service, supporting CYP and their families to enrolment and throughout their learner journey.
  • Capture data for Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and other forms of learner consultation through robust information collection. 

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications: 

      Level 3 in Instruction/Specialist Learning Support or equivalent as a minimum, willing to work towards other appropriate qualifications.

Experience: 1+ year of experience within a similar role. 

Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS and references covering the last 3 years. 

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours: 35 hours p/w.
