Teaching Assistant

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Teaching Assistant to work in Effingham, Surrey. This position is initially for a couple of months and is paying £92.16 per day (paid to you via an umbrella company).

The role:

Your role will be to assist in providing high quality, challenging and differentiated educational activities and sensory experiences through the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum to a small classroom of ASD and SEMH students, aged 11-16, to enable them to achieve their full potential in all areas of learning.

To facilitate this, you’ll be expected to know and understand the Class Teacher’s curriculum planning and to plan, prepare and deliver assigned programmes of teaching and learning activities to individual, small groups and/or classes modifying and adapting activities as necessary within agreed systems of supervision.

Additionally you’ll support the day to day running of classes across the school and take the lead in the absence of a Class teacher, and assess, record and report on development, progress and attainment.

Naturally, you will take responsibility for ensuring a high standard of personal care for the pupils, carefully monitoring the health and well-being of the pupils informing the care staff, medical staff and any other relevant professionals of any concerns.

Like many SEN environments; your duties are likely to vary and therefore candidates will need to be flexible and be able to lend a hand whenever required.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: The Higher Level Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent Level 4 qualification is required.
  • Experience: 1+ year of experience within a similar role.
  • Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS check and 2 x references.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
