Tutor – Construction Employability

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Building Block Tutor to work in Sheffield. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £23.00 (PAYE) or £28.00 (umbrella) per hour. The working hours are Monday – Friday from 8:30am – 4:30pm.
The role:
To deliver employability training related to the delivery of the Councils ‘Building Block’ scheme. Funded by the Governments ‘Construction Skills Fund’ and working in partnership with Sheffield Housing Company, Keepmoat Homes, Engie, Job Centre Plus and other stakeholders this project provides onsite training to individuals looking to gain employment within the Construction sector. 55% of course completers are currently moving into sustained Construction employment and with the opening of a new onsite training facility in S2 we are looking to add another tutor to the existing two tutors working on the scheme. Specifically this role will support in delivering employability training alongside health and safety within a classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support in the delivery of training to meet contractual and funding body requirements related to the Councils ‘Building Block’ scheme.
- Support in the delivery of employability and site safety training across two sites within S2 (Construction Design Centre and Building Block Cabin).
- Assist the Senior Project Officer in delivery and design of the programme.
- Carry out all necessary administration of the programmes as required by the funding body, ensuring that all requirements are fully met.
- Work within and adhere to the Quality Procedures of Life Long learning and Skills
- Support cohorts of circa 20 learners becoming ‘Employment Site Ready’ every two weeks.
- Work with the Senior Project Officer and Programme Co-Ordinator to ensure that facilities and resources and adequate, properly maintained and operated
- To assist the Senior Project Officer with audits and inspections carried out by internal and external bodies.
- Undertake any other duties and responsibilities, which do not change the character and purpose of the post, as may be determined after negotiations between manager, the post holder and appropriate Trade Union.
Applicant Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Hold relevant vocational qualifications e.g. BTEC, NVQ.
Experience: 1+ year of post-graduate experience as a Teacher/Tutor in the UK.
Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS and references covering the last 5 years.
Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
