Community Psychiatric Nurse

Seven Healthcare are looking for a compassionate and driven Community Psychiatric Nurse to join our dynamic mental health team in Surrey. The successful candidate will be tasked with providing invaluable health care support and treatment to individuals in the community with various mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Work closely with patients in the community, assessing their mental health needs, developing, implementing, and reviewing care plans.

2. Collaborate with psychiatrists and psychologists to design individual treatment plans for patients.

3. Diagnose and treat mental health disorders such as schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.

4. Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families to understand the patient’s condition better.

5. Administer medication as required and monitor its effectiveness, making necessary adjustments when required.

6. Conduct regular patient check-ups, ensuring that they are coping well and improving under given treatment plans.

7. Act as a key advocate for patients by liaising with other healthcare professionals, such as social workers and occupational therapists.

8. Ensure all documentation and patient records are accurately maintained and are up to date in accordance with the legal and NHS guidelines.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) with a valid PIN.

2. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is essential, with further specialized training in Mental Health.

3. Minimum two years’ experience as a Community Psychiatric Nurse.

4. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

5. Emotional resilience, ability to handle high-stress situations.

6. A sound understanding of mental health legislation in the UK.

7. Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.

8. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

9. Must have a driving license with access to personal transport for domiciliary visits.
