Accommodation Manager

Seven Social Care is looking for an Accommodation Manager for an exclusive opportunity, within Swale and Maidstone Borough Council.

The role:

The post holder will be responsible for taking an expert Housing Management role across the Council’s accommodation provision including the Council’s owned Temporary Accommodation and the PRS stock we manage on behalf of Maidstone Property Holdings. The post holder will be responsible for Temporary Accommodation, maintenance, voids, rent and arrears, service contracts, health and safety and any domiciliary functions. The post holder will provide on-going and day to day line management, including support, supervision and guidance to the Accommodation Team ensuring they are managing the workload effectively and providing an excellent service including support across the Council to both homeless households and those in longer term accommodation. The post will also be required to:

  • Oversee and monitor the Housing Management functions including H&S Compliance, reactive and responsive repairs, voids, lettings, ASB etc.
  • Contribute to the Council achieving the highest standards and effectiveness in service delivery to service users within the accommodation ensuring all our infrastructure processes and functions are streamlined and operating effectively and in collaboration with our service delivery teams.
  • Carry out liaison roles internally and externally to the Council to ensure a smooth interface between our customers and our infrastructure services.
  • Oversee rental income, arrears management including monitoring and taking action against households as required.
  • Support the implementation of the new Housing Management database platform.
  • Ensure an effective support service is provided to households as required.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Educated to degree standard or equivalent with Significant experience of working in the homelessness and housing sector or A Chartered Institute of Housing recognised qualification
  • Experience: Experience in a similar role, with knowledge of all housing management processes.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37 hours p/w.
  • Be able to work flexibly in Maidstone and outside of office hours including an out of hours rota.
