Assistant Residential Childrens Worker

Seven Resourcing are currently seeking an Assistant Residential Children’s Worker to work in Derbyshire. Full time (48 hrs) and part time (24 hrs) options available. Paying £14.49 p/h. A full DBS and Driving License will be needed for this role. 

Purpose of this role:

Provide a service, particularly during the nights, to children and young people living in Children’s Residential Homes in accordance with legislative and policy requirements.

Responsible for the holistic care and safety needs of the children, assuming a parental role for the children whilst working in close partnership with internal and external partners.

Police and other emergency services

Health service including CAMHS

Voluntary and Independent sector employees

Other Derbyshire County Council colleagues and departments, as relevant

Line managed by home manager or deputy home Manager

Key result areas include:

Provision of responsive care and support, particularly at night, to children and their families who have complex emotional and social needs using a considered and therapeutically informed approach to ensure children and young people are safe, well and cared for.

Follow the therapeutic ethos of Derbyshire Residential Services within the Homes, ensuring that all areas of the care of each child or young person addresses their physical, emotional and social development, using evidence-based models such as social pedagogy, PACE, trauma informed practice and attachment.

Encourage children and young people to develop an understanding of their situation to enable them to exercise personal responsibility and choice in their lives.

Take responsibility for shift coordination and organising staff handover to ensure the smooth running of the home to enable children and young people to be supported to progress and participate in a meaningful daily routine.
