Child Protection and Court SSW

Seven Social Care is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supervising Social Worker to join our team in Oldbury.

As a Supervising Social Worker, you will be responsible for overseeing and supporting foster families in their role of caring for children and young people.

The rate of pay for this role is £30.57 – £33.30 per hour.

Responsibilities:

– Provide support and guidance to foster families on a regular basis

– Assess the suitability of potential foster families through the completion of assessments

– Ensure all placements comply with statutory regulations and policies

– Attend meetings and provide reports to the local authority and other professionals as required

– Contribute to the recruitment and retention of foster families

– Support the development and training of foster families

– Manage a caseload while maintaining accurate and up-to-date records

– Work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people

Requirements:

– A relevant social work qualification (e.g. Diploma, BA or MA in Social Work)

– Be registered with Social Work England

– Experience of working within fostering or adoption services

– Knowledge of child protection, safeguarding and fostering legislation

– Good communication and interpersonal skills

– Ability to work independently and manage a caseload while maintaining accurate records

– A car driver with access to their own vehicle
