Children In Care Social Worker

Seven Health & Social Care are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children in Care Social Worker to join our expanding team in Powys, UK. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for helping children and young people sustain a healthier and safe living environment, as well as a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in care.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Work closely with children, young people, and their families or carers to assess their needs and circumstances.

2. Develop and implement appropriate care plans to enhance the well-being of the children, ensuring they are in safe and supportive environments.

3. Carry out regular reviews of the care plans, making updates as necessary to respond to changes in the child or young person’s circumstances.

4. Liaise closely with teachers, health professionals, legal services, and other professionals involved in the welfare of the children and young people in your care.

5. Manage risks associated with child protection issues, mental health problems, or substance abuse.

6. Prepare reports and attend court hearings when needed, and provide representation for the children in your care.

Key Requirements:

1. Degree in social work, and registered with the Social Work England.

2. Previous experience working with children, ideally in a childcare setting.

3. A thorough understanding of child protection law, policy, and procedures.

4. Exceptional communication, empathy, and influencing skills.

5. Enhanced DBS clearance.

6. The ability to manage a caseload, be highly organised, self-driven, and flexible to adjust to changing situations.

7. Strong report writing skills and IT literacy.
