Childrens Social Worker Safeguarding Team

seven Social Care are seeking for a dedicated and experienced Children’s Social Worker to join our Safeguarding team in Truro. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people within the community. Guidance and advice on child protection should be effectively provided, individually or as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of children, young people and their families to identify needs and risks, and develop suitable plans accordingly.

2. Actively participate in inter-agency work to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to all child and family interventions.

3. Provide sound written reports that reflect professional opinion and analysis.

4. Regularly communicate effectively and work in close partnership with other agencies such as the police, health services and schools.

5. Adhere strictly to all legal requirements, statutory guidance, and local authority policies and procedures.

6. Participate and contribute to various meetings including child protection conferences, strategy discussions and other relevant professional meetings.

7. Regularly supervise contacts involving children and young people, and prepare relevant court reports when needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

1. Degree in Social Work.

2. Social Work England registration.

3. In-depth knowledge and understanding of child development, attachment theory, trauma and resilience.

4. Minimum of two years of post-qualification experience within a similar role.

5. Ability to manage and prioritise a demanding caseload.

6. Excellent decision-making, assessment and report-writing skills.

7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

8. Proficient in using IT systems.

9. Ability to work flexibly and respond to emergency situations.
