Control Centre Operator (Housing and Planning)

Seven Resourcing are looking for 2 temporary Control Centre Operators to work with the Housing and Planning Service in Rugby. These positions are initially for a period of 6 weeks and are paying £12.23 per hour (paid to you via an umbrella company).

The role:

The role will focus on answering calls from the Council’s Lifeline customers and out of hours services. Therefore excellent telephone communication skills essential along with the ability to show empathy and act quickly on own initiative.

Candidates are expected to carry out home visits on occasion to check on the welfare of customers following concerns raised.

Ability learn new systems and competency in MS Office 365 applications essential.

Candidates will work on rota basis usually over no more than 3 consecutive days.

Shifts are night shifts starting 18:15 to 06:30 and will include some weekends.

Shifts will be given at commencement of the role, with the expectation to be flexible where possible.

Training will be given on the relevant lifeline systems required for the role.

Key Responsibilities:

      To provide a dedicated, sensitive and responsive service to all customers who are connected or approach the Control Centre.

To respond to calls connected to the Control Centre and take the appropriate action to resolve them in line with policy and procedure, for example attending on site.

To monitor CCTV and to take appropriate action in line with policy and procedure.

To activate the Emergency Plan should the need arise.

To work together as part of a team, ensuring continuity of the service, to provide a 24 hour service every day of the year, by operating a shift system. Also to provide short notice, emergency cover in the event of unforeseen absences of colleagues.

To maintain up- to-date and accurate records of all residents, calls, incidents and equipment connected with the Control Centre, demonstrating in all cases that policy and procedures were followed and describing the final outcome.

To promote, install, programme, test and maintain the equipment connected to the Control Centre. To diagnose and report any faults and take appropriate action.

To assist and communicate with all stakeholders, including the Police and health professionals, etc.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: N/A
  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role.
  • Compliance: Current DBS check.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
